Scandalous Scribe Kathie Lee Gifford Celebrates Her Birthday in Style on The Today Show

TV star and Broadway vet Kathie Lee Gifford is headed to the Great White Way this fall as the writer and lyricist of the provocative new musical Scandalous: The Life and Trials of Aimee Semple McPherson, about the 1920s evangelist and her fall from grace. Gifford, who appeared on Broadway in 1999’s Putting It Together, has another cause to celebrate: her 59th birthday! The eternally youthful TV personality lifted her glass with her Today Show co-host Hoda Kotb on August 16 to toast the big day before cutting into her Scandalous-themed birthday cake. Designed by Le Cordon Bleu College of Culinary Arts, the cake features a 3D replication of the Scandalous logo, as well as Kathie Lee's three adorable dogs — Louis, Lola and Bambino. In lieu of presents, check out the musical Scandalous at Broadway’s Neil Simon Theatre beginning October 13.
